Swing for Hope: EXIT Oceanside Realty’s 4th Annual Golf Tournament
I’m delighted to announce EXIT Oceanside Realty’s 4th Annual Golf Tournament, taking place Monday, September 22 at Atlantic Pines Golf Club in Wells. This isn’t just a day on the greens — it’s an opportunity to rally behind causes that matter deeply: mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
This year, proceeds will support two remarkable organizations: The Kita Center’s Camp Kita and Stay; For Life. Both are doing extraordinary work to support individuals and families impacted by suicide, and we’re honored to stand beside them.
Spotlight on Our Partners
🌲 Camp Kita — The Kita Center
Camp Kita is a tuition-free summer bereavement camp in Maine for children aged 8 to 17 who have lost a loved one to suicide. In a safe and nurturing environment, campers find connection, healing, and hope.
What makes Camp Kita so special:
- Peer support groups (“Kita Groups”) led by mental health professionals foster community and shared understanding.
- 24/7 trauma-informed support ensures every camper feels safe and cared for.
- A thoughtful balance of healing and fun, with activities like hiking, swimming, yoga, art, woodworking, and photography.
Camp Kita provides a space where grief is met with compassion, and children can rediscover joy while learning coping skills that last a lifetime.
💙 Stay; For Life
Stay; For Life is a Maine-based nonprofit dedicated to men’s mental health and suicide prevention. Their mission is to reduce stigma, provide resources, and foster safe spaces for conversation.
Key initiatives include:
- The Man to Man Peer Support Group, a weekly gathering in Wells offering men a safe, judgment-free space to connect.
- A comprehensive network of suicide, grief, veterans’, LGBTQ+, and young adult resources.
- Special programs like Trent’s Tree and Comfort Boxes, developed in collaboration with The Kita Center, to provide solace and remembrance to grieving families.
By focusing on community, compassion, and connection, Stay; For Life is breaking down barriers and creating lifesaving change.
